Senior Software Developer (Ruby Hacker)

Requirements:
- Sound understanding of new technologies and enthusiasm for building highly-scalable system infrastructures
- 5+ years experience writing high-performance, web-related software
- 2+ years experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails
- Experience with Python, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
- Expert with client/server networked applications
- Knowledge of Unix, web servers, and application servers
- Experience building highly scalable enterprise and distributed systems
- Ability to write clean, coherent code

Requirements:

- Oracle database performance tuning a plus

Technical Support and Training Positions

We are also seeking people interested in working directly with schools and school districts. If you are passionate about supporting education and education reform, this position will work directly with schools in assisting them in using our technologies in ways that support student and educator learning. This position is full-time and you will be working out of our office overlooking Pioneer Square in Seattle.

Requirements:
- 5+ years experience providing customer support using technologies
- Experience with troubleshooting and communicating to development teams
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
- Knowledge of schools and education organizations is helpful
- Experience building competence within schools/districts using the technology
- Ability to self-organize and manage multiple accounts independently
- Ability to understand and master new technologies quickly
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
